Cloud DevOps Engineer

Cloud. Code.
Curiosity.

Self-taught, from IT support to DevOps. I work with Azure, IONOS, and VMware. Build the infrastructure, automate the repeatable bits, and make the logs useful.

What these numbers mean

The scale and systems I have hands-on experience with, as part of an operations team.

  • 80+ Cloud subscriptions. In the environment I work with.
  • 1,000+ Virtual machines. Across the wider hybrid-cloud estate.
  • ~70% Provisioning automated. Automation in the environment I help build.
  • Millions Log lines / day. Through the observability platform I operate.

HomeLab 3.0

A place to build, break, and learn.

A smaller platform for delivery, recovery, and local AI experiments. Rebuilding around VMware and Azure DevOps, one checked component at a time.

Inside the HomeLab

The person behind the systems

Amiga, PC builds, IT support, then DevOps. I got here through work, self-study, and a lot of figuring things out.

Next: platform engineering, cloud architecture, and AI engineering.

A little more about me

I started working young, and growing up was not always easy. I built my way into IT through practice, self-study, and persistence. No computer science degree. Plenty of time figuring things out.

I am continuing my education alongside the work. More cloud, more security, better automation. There is still a lot I want to learn and build.

Husband and dad of three. Family comes first. The lab, the books, and the next project fit around that.
